The Interstellar Research Group (IRG) announces its 2026 Scholarship Program, offering three awards: one undergraduate scholarship, one master’s scholarship, and one doctoral scholarship for eligible applicants.
Award details
- Each scholarship is $2,500 (this includes the Tim Bolgeo Memorial Scholarship).
- Awards are merit-based and require applicants to submit an essay with their application.
- Scholarships are funded by supporters of IRG.
Who may apply
- Applicants must be U.S. citizens and reside in the United States or its territories.
- Applications are accepted from students enrolled at a university in the United States or its territories. High school seniors and current undergraduate students are explicitly eligible to apply.
- Applicants must be full-time students who have been accepted to or are enrolled in an accredited U.S. college or university that grants a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree.
Eligible fields of study
Areas considered include, but are not limited to: STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics), ecology, social sciences, environmental studies, business, health, law, agriculture, food sciences, computer science, education, construction, and any discipline applicable to interstellar missions or to building successful extraterrestrial settlements.
