American Petroleum Institute Scholarships

Overview
Each year the American Petroleum Institute (API) awards scholarships from its Scholarship Fund to qualified applicants. Scholarship sizes depend on monies raised through two annual events: the API Golf Tournament and the API Chili Cook-Off. Preference is given to students who plan to enter or are pursuing careers in the petroleum industry, especially those who are related to active members of our chapter; however, applicants outside those categories will also be considered.

- Must be a resident of Wyoming.
- An individual may receive the API scholarship a maximum of four (4) times.

The Lauren P. Miller Scholarship provides financial aid to individuals enrolled in a Registered Apprenticeship Program registered with the U.S. Department of Labor, Office of Apprenticeships. Applicants from any trade will be considered, but priority will be given to candidates in automotive and construction-related trades (for example: carpentry, plumbing, and electrical).

The Trapshooting Hall of Fame is awarding seven scholarships this year: five awards of $5,000 each and two awards of $1,000 each. The five $5,000 scholarships are paid over a four-year period; the two $1,000 scholarships are one-time awards. Eligible applicants are graduating high school seniors who are active members of the Amateur Trapshooting Association (ATA) and who will be enrolled full time at an accredited college or university. Recipients of a multi-year (four-year) scholarship must maintain a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale to retain ongoing eligibility.
