Fort Bend County Fair Scholarships
Scholarship Sponsored by Fort Bend County Fair Association
Thank you for your interest in the Fort Bend County Fair Association (FBCFA) Scholarship program. The FBCFA will award $5,000 scholarships to high school seniors graduating in the spring of 2025. Recipients will be chosen based on their involvement with the Fair, school and community activities, and academic performance.
ELIGIBILITY
- Must be a high school senior graduating in the spring semester of 2025. Applicants may be enrolled in an accredited Fort Bend County public, private, or home-school program.
- Must plan to enroll at a recognized Texas college or university, a technical school, or a United States Military Academy.
- Must be a U.S. citizen and either reside in Fort Bend County or have a home address zoned to a Fort Bend County school.
- Must have participated in one or more qualifying Fort Bend County Fair activities, such as Fair Livestock, School Art Auction, Rodeo, FCCLA, Ag Mechanics, Horticulture Competition, Fair Queen program, or have served as a Fort Bend County Fair volunteer.
- Must not have been disqualified from any FBCFA competition at any time during grades 9–12.
TIMELINE & DEADLINES
- Application materials must be submitted as follows:
- Certified mail: postmarked no later than January 16, 2025.
- Hand delivery: received by the Fair Office no later than January 16, 2025 at 4:00 PM.
- Applicants will be notified of selection in March 2025.
- Scholarship Awards Reception will take place in April 2025.
APPLICATION MATERIALS & INSTRUCTIONS
Required documents:
1) 2025 Scholarship Application
- Print application pages one-sided only; do not staple.
- Enter “N/A” for any items that do not apply to you.
- The FBCFA may request verification of your Fair participation.
- The application must include signatures from the applicant, a parent, and the leader responsible for the Fair qualifying activity the applicant took part in (examples: FFA advisor, FCCLA sponsor, 4-H leader, Queen Chairman, school art teacher, Horticulture Competition Chairman).
- Any incomplete application, including missing signatures, will be disqualified.
2) Official High School Transcript
- Transcripts must be submitted by one of these methods:
- Emailed directly from the school to ajan@fbcfa.org, OR
- Mailed directly from the school in a sealed envelope stamped “Official” to the Fair Office, OR
- Included with your application inside a sealed school envelope that shows the school’s printed return address and an official school stamp.
- Transcripts must be received by the deadlines above. Failure to provide an official transcript by the deadline will result in disqualification. It is the applicant’s responsibility to confirm the Fair Office has the transcript on file.
SUBMISSION PROCESS & ADDRESSES
- All required materials must be delivered by certified mail (postmarked by the deadline) or hand-delivered in a sealed 9x12 envelope. Regular (non-certified) mail will not be accepted.
- Applicants are responsible for ensuring the Fair Office receives all documents.
