JSHS Scholarships
Scholarship Sponsored by Junior Science and Humanities Symposium
Overview
JSHS honors exceptional research conducted by high school students at both Regional and National symposia. The U.S. Office of the Secretary of Defense, together with the U.S. Departments of the Army, Navy, and Air Force, provide undergraduate tuition scholarships and cash awards for student finalists who are citizens or Lawful Permanent Residents (LPR) of the United States at these Regional and National events. Educators who have made significant contributions to fostering student research are also acknowledged.
Note about other awards
Many groups that organize Regional Competitions offer additional prizes such as university-specific scholarships or other cash awards. The presence, type, and value of these supplemental awards differ by region.
Scholarship payment condition
All DoD-supported scholarships are paid when the recipient enrolls in college and after satisfying JSHS scholarship requirements.
